In its final report, the group agreed that its goals should be to:
Foster the mental health and well-being of people everywhere who experience same-sex sexual expression, attraction, orientation and identity.
Recognize the universality of same-sex attractions and behavior.
Increase societies' understanding of LGB communities and their variety of lifestyles.
The statement also includes recommendations for specific ways to:
Implement LGB-affirmative care on a global level.
Encourage professional education and training on LGB issues.
Promote high-quality research on LGB mental health.
Foster international networking on LGB issues.
An upcoming Monitor will include information on how to obtain a copy once the statement is finalized.
