Div. 1 seeks award nominees

Div. 1 (Society for General Psychology) seeks nominations for its 2005 awards. They include:

The William James Book Award. This award will go to the author of a recent book that integrates material across psychology subfields. To apply, include the author's curriculum vitae, three copies of the book and a one-page statement explaining the book's strengths as an integrative work. Div. 1 discourages entries of textbooks, analytic reviews, biographies and examples of applications. Send materials to William James Book Award, c/o George W. Albee, PhD, 7157 N. The Ernest R. Hilgard Award for Distinguished Contributions to General Psychology. To apply, include the candidate's curriculum vitae, letters of recommendation and a detailed statement supporting the nominee to Peter Salovey, PhD, Department of Psychology, Yale University, 2 Hillhouse Ave., P.O. Box 208205, New Haven, CT 06520-8205.

The George A. Miller Award for the Best Recent Article in General Psychology. To apply, include the author's curriculum vitae, four copies of the article and a statement detailing the article's outstanding contribution to general psychology to Bonnie Strickland, PhD, Department of Psychology, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA 01003.

Div. 15 names new Educational Psychologist editor

Gale M. Sinatra, PhD, an educational psychology associate professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, has accepted an appointment as editor of the Educational Psychologist for a five-year term that began Jan. 1. For submission information, contact Sinatra via e-mail. The publication is the official journal of Div. 15 (Educational).


Div. 22 names new continuing-education chair

Div. 22 (Rehabilitation) named Jacqueline Wall, PhD, chair of its Continuing Education Committee in November. The chair manages the division's continuing education activities. Wall also assumed the chair of the Continuing Professional Education Committee in January. Wall is a psychology professor and director of undergraduate programs at the University of Indianapolis.
