Honor an outstanding consultant

APF is accepting nominations for the 2008 Harry and Miriam Levinson Award, a $5,000 prize presented to an outstanding consulting organizational psychologist. Nominees must be APA members who have demonstrated an exceptional ability to convert industrial/organizational theories and research into applications that leaders and managers can use to create more effective, healthy and humane organizations.

The deadline is March 15. Self-nominations are accepted.

Apply for $25,000 McGuigan prize

APF welcomes nominations for its fourth biennial $25,000 F.J. McGuigan Young Investigator Prize, which honors a young psychological scientist who is engaged in the study of the human mind from a psychophysiological perspective.

Nominees must have doctoral degrees in psychology or related fields and be fewer than nine years postdoctoral degree. They must also be affiliated with an accredited college, university or research institution.

Nominate an exceptional researcher

APF is accepting nominations for the 2008 Alexander Gralnick Research Investigator Prize, a $20,000 award that recognizes exceptional individuals who work in the area of serious mental illness.

Nominees must hold doctoral degrees; present a record of significant research in the area of serious mental illness; show evidence of significant involvement in the training and development of young investigators; and be affiliated with an accredited college, university or research/treatment institution.

Students: Travel free to convention

APF is accepting applications for the 2008 Paul Henkin Student Travel Award. The award covers registration, lodging and travel costs of up to $1,000 for graduate student members of Div. 16 (School) to attend APA's Annual Convention in Boston. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the demands of school psychology and value continuing education through research, community involvement and other relevant contributions. APA employees and students who have received convention reimbursements from other APA sources are ineligible for this award.

$25,000 giftedness fellowship available

APF is debuting a $25,000 annual fellowship for graduate student research on gifted and talented children and adolescents. The Esther Katz Rosen Fellowships are open to students who have achieved doctoral candidacy and are in good academic standing at a university in the United States or Canada.
