CALL FOR PAPERS
The American Correctional Association (ACA) is seeking submissions for the Journal of Correctional Best Practices to be published in August. The first edition of this peer-reviewed journal will focus on young offenders in adult correctional systems. Submissions can be 20 to 40 typed, double-spaced pages in length, inclusive of charts, graphs and references and follow the Publication Manual of the APA, 4th edition. Moxie Firecracker, Inc., introduces Different Moms, a documentary film that shows the challenges facing three mothers with mental retardation, and the model programs which support them. Different Moms highlights the crucial role that supported parenting programs play in aiding these mothers' efforts to raise happy and healthy children. The Different Moms outreach campaign aims to raise public awareness, and to increase the number of supportive programs and assistance networks that help parents with mental retardation.
