Division members collaborate on new format for APA's Annual convention

Since before last year's convention in San Francisco, representatives from each of APA's 53 divisions, Psi Chi, Psi Beta and the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS) have been working to plan for the system of "track programming" to debut at APA's 2002 Annual Convention in Chicago.

With the new system, divisions with shared interests collaborate to develop blocks of sessions designed around a theme. Division representatives met in July to identify themes and develop program formats, and worked throughout the fall to fine-tune ideas with help from the Board of Convention Affairs (BCA).

BCA expects the new system will boost attendance at sessions, enable programs to reach a broader audience and attract more members to divisions.

The following is a list of APA members serving as their division's representative to the APA group planning for the new format.

For more information on the new programming format, see the October Monitor or contact APA's Convention Office.
