Print version: page 10

Intelligence researchers and experts will gather in Paris Oct. 6–8 for the international congress, "L'intelligence de l'enfant," which will examine intelligence in children--from its theoretical models and developmental aspects to its evaluation and measurement.

Held on the centennial of the publication of the first general test of intelligence in 1905 by France's Alfred Binet, the conference will feature such speakers as psychologist and former APA president Robert J. Sternberg, PhD, director of the Yale University Center for the Psychology of Abilities, Competencies and Expertise (PACE Center), and psychologist Elena L. Grigorenko, PhD, deputy director of the PACE Center. Sternberg, one of the conference's inaugural speakers, will speak on intelligence and culture. Grigorenko will speak at a session on intelligence and creativity.
