Research cuts threaten military readiness

Cuts by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) in behavioral and social sciences research may weaken the effectiveness of troop involvement in ever more common situations such as Kosovo, which begin as highly specific short-lived military operations and end as more ambiguous long-term peacekeeping missions.
