VOLUME 30 , NUMBER 7 July/August 1999

Participate in National Depression Screening Day

Mark Oct. 7 on your calendar for the 1999 National Depression Screening Day, and register by Aug. 2 to host a screening site. Last year more than 110,000 people attended the annual event, held at more than 7,000 screening sites across the country. APA, a supporting organization for the screening day, encourages interested psychologists to participate as a means of helping educate the public about depression and its treatment.

The National Depression Screening Day organizers provide participating sites with implementation instructions, publicity ideas and educational and screening materials. Participating sites handle local publicity and provide the professionals to conduct the educational and screening components.

For additional information and registration materials write to National Depression Screening Day, One Washington St., Suite 304, Wellesley Hills, MA 02181-1706, or fax (781) 431-7447.
