Cover Story

The third in a series of presidential miniconventions scheduled for APA's Annual Convention in Washington, D.C., Aug. 8, will examine the intersection of psychology and law in the workplace.

At the invitation of APA President Pat DeLeon, PhD, JD, distinguished panels of psychologists and lawyers will speak on workplace issues such as race, sexual harassment, violence prevention, disability issues and how psychology and law will work together to encourage positive changes in the workplace in the new millennium.

"Psychological expertise should be actively integrated with law where we can help lawyers shape what they do for psychology," says DeLeon.

James R.P. Ogloff, PhD, JD, president of the Canadian Psychological Association, will participate in a symposium with DeLeon--both are lawyers and psychologists, as well as presidents of major psychological associations. Ida L. Castro, chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), will deliver the keynote address.
