APA is one of more than 30 organizations supporting the Seventh International Conference on Family, Violence, Sept. 24-28 in San Diego, held by the nonprofit Family Violence and Sexual Assault Institute.

The conference, subtitled "Working together to end abuse: advocacy, assessment, intervention, research, prevention and policy," will provide a forum for social workers, psychologists, nurses, attorneys, law enforcement, policy-makers, physicians and many other professions to exchange the latest information on family violence. The meeting will also provide psychologists with opportunities to earn continuing professional education credits.

The annual conference spans all aspects of family violence from child maltreatment to elder abuse. Other topics include sexual assault, teen abuse, treatment of offenders, police and legal issues, international perspectives and criminal and judicial issues.

For more information on registration or a conference program, contact the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Institute at (858) 623-2777, ext. 416; e-mail: fvconf@alliant.edu; Web site: www.fvsai.org.
