The APF Koppitz fellowships are funded by a more than $4 million bequest from Werner J. Koppitz, PhD, in memory of his late wife, child psychologist Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz, PhD. The foundation also awarded four graduate students $4,000 grants for travel to professional meetings (see sidebar). Applicants must be graduate students who have progressed through qualifying exams, typically after the third or fourth year of doctoral study. Only one nominee per institution will be accepted each year. Applicants should coordinate their application through their department and through their institution's dean of graduate studies.

The deadline for the 2005 Koppitz fellowships is Nov. 15.

This year's Koppitz fellows have the opportunity to attend an APF-sponsored professional development workshop before APA's Annual Convention in Honolulu, July 28-Aug. 1, where they can network with seasoned developmental psychologists.
