Presentations emphasize how one?s lifestyle can prevent and even reduce the chances of contracting chronic diseases such as coronary heart disease and a variety of cancers. Keynote speakers include Al Bandura, PhD, David Spiegel, MD, Carl Thoresen, PhD and Neil Schneiderman, PhD. The conference also offers the opportunity for participants to attend one-hour workshops on a variety of health-related topics such as anxiety management, chronic pain, smoking prevention and cessation, spiritual well-being and forgiveness training. Div. 26 (History) Div. 26 will host a symposium on the career of Lightmer Witmer on Aug. 17 1?2:50 p.m. at the Mascone Center, San Francisco Marriott Hotel. Paul McReynolds? Lightmer Witmer: His Life and Times will serve as a springboard for a group discussion on clinical psychology and the writing of its history. Symposium topics focus on the ways Witmer?s career affected American psychology both socially and historically.
