Nominate your colleague for Div. 13 awards
Know an exceptional consulting psychologist who deserves recognition? Div. 13 (Society of Consulting Psychology) is seeking nominations for its four annual awards for consulting psychologists and recent graduates in the field. They are:
* The RHR International Award for Excellence in Consultation, a $1,500 prize that honors an individual with a distinguished career in consulting psychology and is funded by the consulting firm of RHR International.
* The Harry and Miriam Levinson Award, a $5,000 prize that honors an individual who has demonstrated unique skills in translating psychological theory into concepts that can be used by employers to create healthy and effective workplaces.
Nomination materials for these two awards should include a letter of nomination from the primary sponsor that outlines the nominee's qualifications; letters of recommendation; the nominee's current résumé or curriculum vitae; and evidence of the significance of the nominee's work.
* The RHR International Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, which honors a doctoral student or recent graduate for outstanding research on consulting psychology, and is also funded by RHR International. The winner receives $1,000 and travel funds to present their research at the 2003 APA Annual Convention in Toronto, Aug. 7-10. Nominations should include a copy of the dissertation, a letter of nomination and two letters of recommendation from Div. 13 members or the nominee's professors.
* The Society of Consulting Psychology Service Award, which honors a Div. 13 member who has made a sustained and significant contribution to the division. Nomination materials should include a letter detailing the service contributions of the nominee and two letters of support from Div. 13 members.

Division maps out research plan
Div. 33 (Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities) is developing a research agenda to help guide funding priorities on health and mental health outcomes in older persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Ideas for the agenda were formulated at a recent conference titled "Intellectual disability, aging and health," co-sponsored by the division and held in Tampa, Fla. in December. Led by Div. 33 Past-president Phil Davidson, PhD, 75 participants from the United States and abroad discussed gaps in biomedical, translational and clinical research. Apply now for Div. 35 HIV-prevention funding
The Div. 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women) Section on the Psychology of Black Women is seeking proposals for its 2003 HIV/AIDS Prevention Small Grants, which support curriculum development and research on preventing or reducing HIV-infection among black women and teenage girls.
Two grants will be awarded for culturally relevant, gender-specific and age-appropriate materials and research: a $3,000 grant for a project on reducing HIV-infection among black women and a $1,625 grant for a project on black teenage girls.
Proposals should demonstrate promise as potential larger projects for other funding, publication or adoption by other researchers, community groups, school systems or appropriate groups that serve the target population. Addictions division seeks award nominations
Div. 50 (Addictions) is accepting nominations for its 2003 awards, to be announced at APA's 2003 Annual Convention in Toronto,Aug. 7-10. Four awards will be presented: the Distinguished Scientific Early Career Contributions award, the Distinguished Scientific Contributions award, the Distinguished Career Contributions to Education and Training award and the Outstanding Contributions to Advancing the Understanding of Addictions award.
