This month, APA's Practice Directorate rolls out three new tools for employers on its Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award Program Web site, www.phwa.org. These include:
Online application submission, which allows employers to easily apply for an award by submitting applications online. This new tool will also enable the state, provincial and territorial associations to manage applications online and administer employee questionnaires to potential organizations electronically. Additionally, this Web-based resource will facilitate APA's efforts to better understand how organizations promote psychologically healthy workplaces.
A searchable database of literature abstracts, which serves as a one-stop shop for psychologically healthy workplace data resources. The database includes summaries of more than 1,000 articles from studies dating back to 1995. APA staff will add new research to the database monthly.
A bimonthly electronic newsletter, Good Company, geared to employers and the psychologists who work with them. The newsletter includes articles related to employee involvement, health and safety, employee growth and development, work-life balance, and employee recognition. It also offers case studies of award-winning organizations, highlights from the latest research, announcements related to the award program, and information about upcoming events.
