This site is a resource center for people with pain, their families, health professionals and legislators, sponsored by the American Pain Foundation, a nonprofit resource and patient advocacy organization. The site includes articles for patients on pain management, medications, infectious diseases, neurological diseases and women's health. It offers a searchable database of up-to-date news articles on pain. Visit the site's advocacy section for congressional testimony, legal analysis and text of pain-rated bills before Congress.
The Health Psychology Research and Information Network
This site is an information center that supports the exchange of research in health psychology and behavioral medicine. The site includes abstracts of poster presentations, papers and other university-based research, and enables visitors to contact researchers online. The site lists upcoming meetings and conferences on health psychology, and links to additional Web sites on health psychology and behavioral medicine.
The National Academies
Visitors to the Web site of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, Institute of Medicine and National Research Council can search more than 1,000 reports on topics including behavioral and social sciences, education and technology. Other features include news from the National Academies and information about professional development, job opportunities and fellowships for students and professionals. Visitors to the site can also access online editions of magazines and journals published by the National Academies.
