Div. 47 (Exercise and Sport) presents its 24th 5K Race and Walk during APA's 2002 Annual Convention in Chicago on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7 a.m.
The run will parallel Lake Michigan, with the start/finish line at Randolph Street and Lake Shore Drive, a short walk from the hotels and convention center.
Trophies will be awarded to the overall men and women's winners and to the top three in each five-year age group, from under 25 to over 74. APA will honor the top three male and female finishers who are Div. 47 members, the top three finishers who are current Psi Chi members; the top three current or past Psi Chi National Council members; and the highest finishing male and female sponsor and exhibitor.
Pre-register for the race at http://www.psyc.unt.edu/ apadiv47/running.html or by contacting Suanne Shocket, e-mail: email@example.com. Include all requested information, especially age and gender, to ensure appropriate race number labeling as well as results categorization.
Also, mark your registration form to reserve a place at the Fifth Annual Pre-Race Pasta Dinner, Friday, Aug. 23, 6-8 p.m., at Gioco's Restaurant, near McCormick Place. You may prepay when you pick up your race materials at the convention.
The entry fee for pre-registered runners is $20 ($10 for students and Div. 47 members). You will receive a commemorative shirt, raffle chance and post-race refreshments. Pre-registration entry forms and fees must be received by Aug. 16. Following that date, the entry fee is $25 ($14 for students). Make checks payable to: Running Psychologists.
