American Psychological Foundation President Dorothy W. Cantor, PsyD, and Executive Director Elisabeth Straus are pleased to report that the Foundation's Campaign for a New Era has raised more than $5.2 million as of March 31 toward its $7 million goal.
"This campaign is about making an impact," says Cantor. "APF will increase the size of its endowment for scholarships and existing grants in areas such as serious mental illness, neuropsychology, giftedness, and the elimination of prejudice such as homophobia."
The foundation will also fund such new program areas as preventing violence and understanding the connection between the mind and body," Cantor notes.
The foundation could not fund such needed and worthy programs without the continued generosity of all of its many supporters. Special thanks are due to the following major campaign contributors to date:
* New Era Philanthropists--donations of $1 million and above from The Estate of Werner J. Koppitz.
* New Era Benefactors--$250,000 and above from Trammel Crow.
* New Era Platinum Society--$100,000 and above from M. Brewster Smith and The Estate of F.J. McGuigan.
