CE at APA's convention will fit your needs and your schedule

This year's APA Convention is offered in a new format, but the tradition of providing quality continuing professional education programs continues.

APA's Office of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) and the APA Continuing Professional Education Committee are offering 52 half-day and full-day workshops covering a wide array of topics ranging from the latest statistical methodology to the latest diagnostic and treatment approaches for your practice.

The CPE Distinguished Speaker Seminar (DSS) has become a tradition at APA's convention. This year's DSS will feature Mark Zelig, PhD, Scott W. Allen, PhD, and Vladimir Nacev, PhD, who will rely on their law enforcement experience to offer insights for psychologists on how to provide psychological services during traumatic events. The DSS will be held on Saturday evening, Aug. 24, with a coffee and dessert reception to follow.

In addition to these in-depth workshops, convention registrants will have the opportunity to earn CE credits for a selected group of general convention sessions. All individuals who register for the APA Convention may attend and participate in those general convention sessions that are eligible for CE credits. Further information on these sessions will be available in upcoming issues of the Monitor, on the APA Web site (www.apa.org) and in your Convention Program.

APA's Sponsor Approval System will also host a breakfast forum for all approved sponsors as well as representatives from organizations interested in learning more about becoming an APA-approved sponsor of CE for psychologists.
