APA's Committee on Psychology Teachers at Community Colleges (PT@CC) is offering five sessions during APA's Annual Convention. They are:
* "Innovative community college teaching methods: using technology to teach psychological concepts," featuring Tonja Ringgold, EdD, Baltimore City Community College on "Making the 'Net-work: integrating the World Wide Web in a psych 101 course," and Ken Gray, PhD, College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, Ill., on "Using technology to personalize general psychology."
* "Using humor in teaching psychology," with Jim Backlund, of Kirtland Community College in Roscommon Michigan, on "Hugh Mann-Beehayfyor: The saga continues," by Cy Kählohgy; Robert Johnson, PhD, Umpqua Community College, Roseburg, Ore., on "Is there serious science behind classroom comedy?"; Judy Farrell, Moorpark Community College, Moorpark, Calif., on "'Tooning in psychology"; and "New teaching resources for community college teachers," with Ann Tway Ewing, PhD, of Mesa Community College, Mesa, Ariz.; Patricia Puccio, EdD, College of DuPage Glen Ellyn, Ill.; and Donna Duffy, PhD, Middlesex Community College, Lowell and Bedford, Mass.
* The PT@CC Invited Address will be given by Robert Cialdini, PhD, Arizona State University, who will discuss "Crafting normative messages to protect the environment."
* "Activating active learning in psychology classes," with Jerry Rudmann, PhD, Coastline Community College, Fountain Valley, Calif., and Robert L. Johnson, PhD, Umpqua Community College, Roseburg, Ore.
