High school students receive Psi Beta honors

Six students from Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Md., were awarded the 2003 Eastern Region Research Award by the Psi Beta Honor Society at the Eastern Psychological Association conference:
* Cadran Cowansage and Elizabeth Treseder for "The effect of long-term alcohol use on learning and memory."
* Ted Canter and Brad Fagar for "The effects of predatory stimuli on behavior and corticosterone levels in rats."
* Amanda Kirby and Stephanie Lawrence for "The effect of caffeine on learning and memory in rats."
These awards mark the first time high school students have been recognized for research at this conference.
