Five candidates run for APA president

APA members have nominated five members to serve as 2005 APA president. The candidates and the number of nominating votes they received are:

Ronald F. Levant, EdD
2,344 votes

Larry E. Beutler, PhD
1,508 votes

Stephen A. Ragusea, PsyD
847 votes

Jerry H. Clark, PhD
741 votes

Donald K. Freedheim, PhD
607 votes


APA mailed the presidential nomination ballots to all APA voting members on Feb. 1. The nominations closed on March 20. The ballots were tabulated by Intelliscan Inc. and presented to APA's Election Committee for certification.

Election ballots will be sent to APA members on Oct. 15, and the election will close on Dec. 1.

The candidates have submitted biographies and candidate statements, which appear on the following pages. More information about the candidates will appear in the June, July/August and September issues of the Monitor, in which they will answer questions on issues of top concern to APA members.
