For the next several months, the Monitor will feature psychology's leaders whose vision, time and financial support have made APF a major philanthropic organization for psychology.
"Giving to an organization
such as the American Psychological Foundation (APF) can accomplish two objectives. It can honor departed colleagues who built the foundation of the field, and it can encourage the next generation to continue the process, to the ultimate benefit of humanity. Thus, my wife, Marion, and I have chosen to honor Lizette Peterson-Homer in an APF fund supporting injury research."
Routh is an emeritus professor at the University of Miami. He has served as president of APA Divs. 6 (Behavioral Neuroscience and Comparative) and 12 (Society of Clinical Psychology), and was founding director of the International Society of Clinical Psychology.
