Help New Orleans recover: See Bill Cosby, donate supplies or volunteer
Print version: page 56

Bill Cosby will appear Saturday, Aug. 12, 7:30–9 p.m., in the La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Seating will be first-come, first-served. APA will donate all proceeds to New Orleans public schools.

Order nonrefundable tickets to the event by filling out the back page of the convention booklet sent with the March Monitor. Tickets will be available for pick up at the APA special events desk in the APA registration area of the convention center.

You can also help the New Orleans public schools hardest hit by Katrina by participating in an APA-sponsored school supplies drive. Drop off school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, calculators and book bags in boxes located throughout the convention center.

You can also lend a hand in an APA/Habitat for Humanity building project on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Participants will help build homes in and around the planned Musicians' Village in the Upper Ninth Ward. No building experience is required. To volunteer, send an e-mail with your name, address, phone number and e-mail address to Convention. Alternatively, you can fax the information to (202) 336-5956.
