Div. 55 invites comments on practice guidelines APA's Div. 55 (American Society for the Advancement of Pharmacotherapy) has developed proposed Guide- lines for Collaborative and Independent Practice in Pharmacotherapy. The Div. 55 executive committee approved the guidelines in August 2005. APA Association Rule 30-8.3 mandates notification of all divisions and state, provincial and territorial psychological associations of guidelines in progress prior to consideration by APA's Council of Representatives. Divisions and state, provincial and territorial psychological associations have been notified of the availability of the draft guidelines. APA members are also invited to request a copy of the document and to offer comments. The 90-day period for receipt of comments will end on Aug. 9. After comments have been received and reviewed, and appropriate revisions made, APA governance will review the guidelines. Once in final form, the guidelines will be sent to the Council of Representatives to be considered for adoption as APA policy. The draft guidelines are available at www.division55.org/draftguidelines.htm. For further information, contact Div. 55 President Robert McGrath, PhD; (201) 692-2445.
