The world-famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band will offer a special concert for APA members on Friday, Aug. 11, at 8 p.m. in the La Nouvelle Orleans Ballroom at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Tickets for the performance cost $10, and the proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity. The band is known for its high-energy, crowd-satisfying performances, and many of its charter members performed with early 20th century jazz pioneers, including Buddy Bolden, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong and Bunk Johnson.
Order tickets in advance by completing the form that appeared in the registration booklet in the March Monitor or online at the APA Convention Web site. Tickets are nonrefundable and will be available for pickup in the registration area at the special events booth during regular registration hours. Seating is first-come, first-served.
