Sauter honored at APA/NIOSH conference
Print version: page 13

At the 2006 Work, Stress and Health Conference in Miami in March, APA President Gerald P. Koocher, PhD, presented Steven L. Sauter, PhD, chief of the Organizational Science and Human Factors Branch in the Division of Applied Research and Technology of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), with a presidential citation honoring his work to integrate behavioral science into occupational safety and health. Sauter helped develop the Work, Stress and Health conference series—co-sponsored by APA, NIOSH and other federal agencies—more than 15 years ago. He also nurtured graduate training programs at 11 universities nationwide in the then-emerging field of occupational health psychology, has collaborated internationally with occupational safety and health researchers and practitioners and helped develop the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology and the Society for Occupational Health Psychology.
