IN BRIEF The 2008 International Congress of Psychology in Berlin will include a number of workshops, symposia and speakers on lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) topics in psychology, as a result of efforts by multinational psychological associations focused on LGB concerns. The International Network on Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Concerns and Transgender Issues in Psychology (INET), of which APA is a founding member, helped organize sessions such as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transsexual/Transgender Issues in Clinical Populations and Clinical Settings, Homosexuality and Mental Health and Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Health for the upcoming congress. This will be the first international congress with a significant representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender psychology programs in its line-up, and INET encourages even more proposals from psychologists, says Clinton Anderson, PhD, director of APAs Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Concerns Office. The congress will run from July 20–25, 2008, and attendees can submit proposals for additional LGB symposia until Oct. 31. [The congress] will allow psychologists from around the world to meet with us and learn about our work, says Armand Cerbone, PhD, APAs co-representative to INET and director of behavioral health services at Howard Brown Health Center in Chicago.
