New Education Directorate home page (www.apa.org/ed) The APA Education Directorate has launched a new home page with expanded information. It includes a 'What?s New' section that covers the latest information on such issues as distance learning, psychologists in the news and the growing use of part-time and adjunct faculty. Visitors can also check out the 'Grants, Scholarships and Funding' section, which provides information on resources available to students and faculty at all levels. International meeting (www.apa.org/convention/iaap) Details on the 24th International Congress of Applied Psychology, to be held in San Francisco Aug. 9?14, just prior to APA?s Annual Convention, is available on the web site. Registration forms, information on accommodations and a list of symposiums and invited speakers are all housed at the site.
Psychscapes WorldWide (www.mental-health. com/PsychScapes/home.html) This is a comprehensive resources of psychology-related material for professionals. The site includes a database of thousands of upcoming workshops and conferences around the world. Visitors can search those listings, free of charge, by topic, dates, location or speakers. Psychscapes WorldWide also offers a Therapist Information Network (TIN), which lists more than 900 psychologists, counselors and therapists. TIN allows consumers and referring professionals to find therapists according to location, specialty and therapeutic orientation. Psychologists can also use the site to locate information on such products and services as books, computer software and accounting services. The Child Survivor of Traumatic Stress (www.ummed.edu/pub/k/kfletche/kidsurv.html) Based on an annual newsletter of the same name?edited and published by Kenneth E. Fletcher, PhD, of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center?this site provides information for professionals who work with traumatized children. Articles on the site are selections from earlier issues of the newsletter, with some updated or expanded for online readers. Online links to other trauma-related web sites also are provided. |
