Presidential programs focus on cancer, ethnic-minority issuesEthnic minorities and cancer are the themes of two presidential miniconventions hosted by APA President Richard Suinn, PhD, at this year's APA Annual Convention in Boston, Aug. 20-24. Suinn has gathered experts inside and outside of psychology to present research and discuss issues related to these two issues, which have been central themes this presidential year. "The Presidential Miniconvention on Ethnic Minorities: Scaling the Summit" will provide a forum for discussing issues ranging from mentoring ethnic-minority psychologists to the need for culturally appropriate psychopharmacology treatment for ethnic-minority patients.
