Thanks to advocacy by APA and other groups, congress has never been more open to improving mental health care in America, believes Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.). And, with the continued support of APA and its members, "this Congress will make the right decisions on mental health for all Americans and their families.

Templeton Positive About Largest Psychology Award

The John Templeton Foundation of Radnor, Pennsylvania, announced recently that it will sponsor the largest cash award program in the field of psychology. With a first prize of $100,000, the four annual awards for outstanding research in the field of positive psychology will total $200,000. And, at $50,000, even its second prize will be among the highest awards now presented in psychology.
