Nominations sought for Gerson Memorial Grant

The American Psychological Foundation (APF) seeks nominations for the 2001 Randy Gerson Memorial Grant, which awards $5,000 to a graduate student engaged in doctoral studies that advance the systemic understanding of family or couple dynamics or multigenerational processes. Work that advances theory, assessment or clinical practice in these areas will be considered. Projects using or contributing to the development of Bowen family-systems theory as well as those that advance Gerson's research on using family history to identify family behavioral patterns will be given highest priority.

Application packets must include seven copies of a statement of the proposed project; rationale for how the project meets the fund's goals; budget for the project; statement on how the project's results will be disseminated (published paper, report, monograph, etc.); personal reference material; and the nominee's official transcript. The deadline is Feb. 1. For additional information, contact the Awards Coordinator/Gerson, APF, at the APA address; (202) 336-5814; or e-mail.
