Government task force to examine impact of media, advertising on children The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) named Jeff McIntyre, senior legislative and federal affairs officer in APAs Public Interest Public Policy Office, to a task force that will examine the impact of media and advertising on childrens health. The task force, supported by Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), will convene a series of meetings with representatives of childrens programming and the food marketing industry, consumer advocates, childrens health experts and government officials. Other members of the task force include FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, FCC Commissioner Deborah Tate, Parents Television Council President Tim Winter, and Patti Miller of Children Now. The FCC will write and issue a final report.
