Print version: page 15

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) named Jeff McIntyre, senior legislative and federal affairs officer in APA’s Public Interest Public Policy Office, to a task force that will examine the impact of media and advertising on children’s health. The task force, supported by Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), will convene a series of meetings with representatives of children’s programming and the food marketing industry, consumer advocates, children’s health experts and government officials. Other members of the task force include FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, FCC Commissioner Deborah Tate, Parent’s Television Council President Tim Winter, and Patti Miller of Children Now. The FCC will write and issue a final report.
