The Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies promotes a new generation of young North American scholars with specialized knowledge of modern and contemporary German and European affairs. The Olfactory Fund is seeking talented investigators to conduct research integrating the study of olfaction with current issues in developmental, perceptual, social and cognitive psychology. A nationwide competition sponsored by the Ford Foundation and administered by the National Research Council of the National Academies announces 25 Postdoctoral Fellowships for Minorities. Awards will be made for study in research-based doctoral programs (PhD or ScD ) in the life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, engineering sciences, behavioral and social sciences, education and the humanities. Applicants must have completed a PhD or DcD degree no earlier than Jan. 7, 1993 and no later than Mar. 1, 2000. Applicants are expected to be engaged in or planning a career in teaching and research at the college or university level. Stipend of $30,000 for one year; $3,000 travel and relocation allowance; $2,000 cost-of-research allowance; $2,500 employing institution allowance, to be matched by the employing institution.
