 Dr. Linda Bartoshuk

Colin Martindale is new candidate for president-elect

Bartoshuk withdraws from APA presidential race
Print version: page 11

In August, Linda M. Bartoshuk, PhD, withdrew as a candidate for APA president-elect citing health issues as the reason. As a result of Bartoshuk's announcement, another candidate had to be selected to run in her place. In keeping with the Association Rules and the APA Bylaws for President-elect nominations, a redistribution of the nomination ballots was done and Colin Martindale, PhD, was elected as the fifth nominee to appear on the president-elect final ballot.

Given how late in the campaign this occurred--the ballot will be mailed to members on Oct. 15--Martindale will not have the opportunity to answer the questions in the Monitor as the other four candidates have (see May, June, July/August and September issues).

Below is Martindale's statement and biography, which will hopefully provide the membership an opportunity to learn more about the newly elected nominee.

When the ballots are mailed to the membership, Martindale's biography will accompany the ballot along with his 1,000-word statement on the issues facing psychology.
