  Beutler honored for a lifetime of service

Scientist practitioner Larry E. Beutler, PhD, received a Presidential Commendation from APA President Philip G. Zimbardo, PhD, at his retirement party from the University of California, Santa Barbara, on June 26. Beutler was honored for a lifetime of service to psychology as an "eminent researcher, dedicated teacher, talented practitioner and distinguished editor," read the commendation.

Beutler has taught and mentored generations of clinical psychologists at Stephen Austin State University, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Arizona Health Sciences Center and, most recently, the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has published extensively in APA's journals and has served as the editor of Psychotherapy Research, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and Journal of Clinical Psychology. He has been active in division leadership and his honors include the Gold Medal Award and Rosalee G. Weiss Award from the American Psychological Foundation.
