Psychology educators and education advocates gathered to celebrate GPE APA Board of Educational Affairs Chair Jonathan Sandoval, PhD, kicked off the Education Advocacy Breakfast--held each year at APA's Annual Convention to celebrate recent legislative victories and build momentum for future ones--by presenting the first-ever Education Advocacy Distinguished Service Award to Florida practitioner Herb Goldstein, PhD. Goldstein was honored for garnering congressional support for the federal Graduate Psychology Education Program (GPE), which funds health-service programs that train psychologists to work with underserved populations, such as children, rural communities and the elderly. --J.
