With more than 4,000 members, Div. 39 (Psychoanalysis) is one of APA's largest divisions. Its members are committed to the study, practice and development of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychology. Membership in the division earns subscriptions to two quarterly journals--Psychoanalytic Psychology and Psychoanalytic Abstracts--as well as the quarterly newsletter Psychologist-Psychoanalyst. The division hosts an annual spring meeting; the 2006 meeting will be held April 19-23 in Philadelphia. The division has nine sections that represent broad member interests, including childhood and adolescence, research, family therapy and women's issues. Graduate student members serve alongside psychologist members on each of the division's committees. In addition, the division has an active Graduate Student Committee that promotes opportunities for students to present their research, ideas and techniques on psychoanalytic theory at national conferences. For more information on the division, visit its Web site at www.division39.org. To join, contact Membership Chair Lewis Rothschild, PhD, via e-mail.
