Nominations sought for Suinn Achievement awards
Print version: page 88

The Commission on Ethnic Minority Recruitment, Retention and Training (CEMRRAT2) Task Force of APA’s Public Interest Directorate invites nominations from psychology graduate students for the Suinn Achievement Awards, which honor doctoral programs that have demonstrated excellence in the recruitment, retention and graduation of ethnic-minority students. Three Suinn awards will be presented at APA’s 2008 Annual Convention in Boston, Aug. 14–17.

To nominate, the program or department chair should provide: the names of the institution and the specific nominated program in psychology; the number and percentage of ethnic-minority students currently enrolled in program or department; the number and percentage of students who have enrolled or earned a doctoral degree during the past five years; and a brief description of the nominated program or department with regard to funding, curriculum, faculty and student collaborations, recruitment and retention, mentoring and modeling and other related aspects or activities.

Direct all inquiries and nomination materials to Dennis Bourne, Office of Ethnic Minority Affairs. Nominations are due April 15.
