NIAAA chief honored for research support

National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) Director Enoch Gordis, MD, spoke of the achievements and promise of behavioral science in alcohol and addiction research as part of the NIAAA Miniconvention at APA?s 1998 Convention.

NIAAA sponsored the miniconvention, which was organized by APA divisions 28 (Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse) and 50 (Addictions). Attendance at miniconvention sessions, most of which were standing room only, indicates the strong interest in addiction research among psychologists, said Gordis.
