* Student affiliates account for 59,700 members of APA--one-third of APA's total membership? When graduate students join APA as student affiliates, they are automatically enrolled as members of APAGS. Undergraduate affiliates may opt to pay the graduate student membership rate to become members of APAGS and receive the same APAGS member benefits.
* APAGS is governed by nine elected committee members and five appointed subcommittee chairs and is currently supported by two central office staff members?
* APAGS operates on its own annual dues-generated budget? A little over one-quarter of each APAGS member's dues goes directly into the APAGS budget, which--after overhead and operational costs are paid--funds all of the APAGS committee and membership activities performed on behalf of students. The remaining three-fourths of the annual dues go into APA's budget to contribute to its overall operational costs.
* Roughly 15 percent of APAGS members are undergraduate students? Most APAGS members are pursuing doctoral degrees. Some are completing master's degree programs and intend to go on to earn their doctoral degrees. The majority of APAGS members are in doctoral programs.
* About 70 percent of APAGS members are seeking degrees that will require licensure or certification to practice? About 25 percent plan to become researchers, bench scientists or academicians.
