Div. 9 (Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues)
Div. 9 (SPSSI) announced the relocation of its central office from Ann Arbor, Mich., to Washington, D.C.
Division President Jennifer Crocker, PhD, says the move will facilitate SPSSI's mission, which includes "promoting the application of psychological research on social issues to public policy."
Div. 9's new office will align and share office space with the National Center for Public Policy Research for Women and Families, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and families.
Crocker extends special thanks to the Relocation Task Force: James Jones, PhD, Vicki Esses, PhD, Geoff Maruyama, PhD, Phyllis Katz, PhD, Faye Crosby, PhD, and Sam Gaertner, PhD.
Div. 12 (Society of Clinical Psychology)
The Div. 12 brochure, What Is Clinical Psychology?, is now available from the division's central office. Div. 30 (Society of Psychological Hypnosis)
Effective since the end of March, the division formerly known as Psychological Hypnosis has changed its name to the Society of Psychological Hypnosis. Approved by 80 percent of division voters, the change was initiated in order to make the division's purpose more recognizable and enhance its image. The new, more complete name is more prestigious and is expected to give the division greater recognition, authority and visibility outside as well as inside APA, says Past Division President Cynthia V. Wickless, PhD.
Div. 49 (Group Psychology and Group Psychotherapy)

Div. 54 (Society of Pediatric Psychology)
The Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP), now celebrating its first full year as a division, has created the SPP Student Poster Awards. Three to five student members will receive a travel award to present their research at APA's Annual Convention. The purpose is to offer students a forum to present quality research in pediatric psychology.
