Kay Wilson, executive officer of Psi Chi and president of the Association of College Honor Societies, died in June. Under her leadership, Psi Chi--the national honor society for psychology students--doubled its membership and the number of chapters nationwide. In 1996, Wilson helped shepherd the transformation of the Psi Chi Newsletter into Eye on Psi Chi, a full-color magazine. She also supervised the creation of a new publication, the Psi Chi Journal of Undergraduate Research.

Wilson earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and did graduate work in biochemistry at Purdue University and Emory University before returning to the University of Tennessee to teach biology. She held several managerial positions before being hired by Psi Chi as an associate officer in 1990. A year later, she moved into the executive officer position, which she held until her death.
