APA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Candidates state their views
Print version: page 70

The five candidates for APA's 2007 president are answering two questions in each issue of the June through September issues of the Monitor to give APA members more information about their candidacies.

APA will mail the ballots to members on Oct. 14, and the election will close on Nov. 28. For biographical information on each candidate and the candidates' election statements, see the May Monitor, available at www.apa.org/monitor/may05/candidates.html.

Questions:

How would you justify "basic behavioral research" to a policy-maker who is not convinced that it is good use of public funds?

What concrete steps would you take to promote unity between psychologists who think of themselves as scientists and those who think of themselves as practitioners?
