APA Announces New Editor for the International Journal of Stress Management

Psychologist Sharon Glazer, PhD, is a professor at San Jose State University and the University of Maryland.

The American Psychological Association (APA) has announced the appointment of Sharon Glazer, PhD, as editor of the International Journal of Stress Management. Dr. Glazer is a professor in the Department of Psychology at San Jose State University, research professor at the University of Maryland, and treasurer of the International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology. She received her PhD in organizational psychology from Central Michigan University, her MS in applied psychology from the University of Baltimore, and her BS in psychology from the University of Maryland.

The editorial focus of the International Journal of Stress Management (IJSM) is the assessment, management, and treatment of stress and trauma, whether emotional, cognitive, behavioral, or physiological. Articles in the journal also address personal, organizational, and societal issues relevant to stress management. The journal publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed original research—empirical, theoretical, historical, and review articles—as well as book reviews and editorials.

Gary R. VandenBos, PhD, APA publisher and the executive director of APA’s Office of Publications and Databases, has been serving as editor of the International Journal of Stress Management for the last three years. He welcomed the new editor, stating, “Dr. Glazer has an outstanding professional background and a skills set that is highly relevant to the mission of the journal. I am pleased that she has accepted the invitation to serve as Editor and I know that she will keep the journal in the forefront of the field. Personally, I look forward to a smooth transition in the editorship and to working collaboratively with Dr. Glazer in the future.”
