Welcome to "In The Public Interest!"
A newsletter from the American Psychological Association’s Public Interest Directorate. In the Public Interest will serve as an added channel of communication and opportunity to work with our constituents, collaborators, governance leaders and friends in sharing information about topics of relevance to our work in “bringing psychology to the public.” We hope it will become a valuable source for identifying and disseminating information on resources, opportunities, and needs to and from a wide and diverse audience, and that you will look forward to receiving it quarterly throughout the year. In this spirit, we invite, and indeed encourage, involvement in the evolution of this joint venture from our affiliated groups and colleagues, such as governance groups, divisions, state associations, and others.
I hope you enjoy this first issue, and that it inspires you to become involved. We anticipate your ongoing engagement in the important work of the APA Public Interest Directorate, and hope you will help us shape this new communication tool with recommendations for content, structure, and other helpful suggestions.
