Senate moves forward with the Healthy Media for Youth Act; House version gains co-sponsors

Senators Kay Hagan (D-NC) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ) have introduced the Senate version of the Healthy Media for Youth Act (S. 3852/H.R. 4925)

Initiated by APA, this legislation would support research, media literacy, and youth empowerment programs. It would also create a Federal Communications Commission task force to establish voluntary guidelines on media images of women. The House version of the bill, H.R. 4925, now has 51 co-sponsors.
