APA welcomes new leadership in its Public Interest Government Relations Office (PI-GRO)

In September, APA named Diane Elmore, PhD, MPH, as the new Associate Executive Director (AED) of PI-GRO

Dr. Elmore has served as Acting AED since May of this year and as a Senior Legislative and Federal Affairs Officer in PI-GRO since 2005.  In addition, she continues to direct APA’s Congressional Fellowship Program, which she has overseen for several years.  Previously, she served as an APA/AAAS Congressional Fellow in the Office of U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and as the SPSSI James Marshall Public Policy Scholar at APA.  Dr. Elmore received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston, MA and BA in Psychology from Pepperdine University, and MPH from Johns Hopkins University with a dual concentration in health policy and public health preparedness.  She brings over 16 years of mental health research, clinical, and policy experience in a variety of settings.
