34 HOPE trainers take first HOPE online training

Online training provides more flexibility for HOPE volunteers

APA’s HOPE Program, housed in the Office on AIDS, provided the first ever online HOPE training for 34 volunteer trainers, who completed an intensive three-module series over five prerecorded training sessions and 11 live training sessions.

Online training provides more flexibility for HOPE volunteers to work within their individual schedules and does so at no cost to the trainers.

The online modules cover adult learning theory, the experiential learning model, individual learning styles, and the ingredients for training assessment and design. Newly recruited trainers completed module prework and postwork assignments and quizzes and conducted a real-time training to teach back to their peers. With the successful completion of the online training, HOPE trainers are equipped with the tools to deliver interactive HIV and mental health training events.
