Free training: Effective Providers for Child Victims of Violence

APA’s Violence Prevention Office is offering a free 2-day train-the-trainer workshop in Washington, DC (December 2 — 3), Chicago (December 9 — 10), and Phoenix (February 3 — 4) that will prepare mental health professionals to expand their professional opportunities by disseminating evidence-based, trauma-focused assessment tools and treatments for child and adolescent victims of violence.
This train-the-trainer workshop is a collaborative effort by the APA Violence Prevention Office, the APA Office of Continuing Education in Psychology, the Illinois Psychological Association, Childhelp, and the National Center for Victims of Crime under a grant awarded to APA by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Victims of Crime. The workshop will expand on training conducted at the 2011 APA Annual Convention.
