CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Committee on Disability Issues in Psychology

2009 Distinguished Contributions to the Advancement of Disability Issues in Psychology


The Committee on Disability Issues in Psychology (CDIP) of the American Psychological Association (APA) presents its Distinguished Contributions to the Advancement of Disability Issues in Psychology Award.

This award seeks to recognize an APA member who has had a significant and enduring impact on advancing the role of psychological principles to enhance the lives of and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in society. The contributions may be of a scientific, professional, educational, mentoring, leadership, or political nature.

The nominator is asked to compile and submit the following materials:

  • letter of nomination: (written by the nominator) to include a brief description of the specific achievements and contributions of the nominee (500 word maximum),
  • current curriculum vitae: requested from the nominee, and the
  • names of three individuals who have been asked by the nominator to write reference letters.

Send nominations and supporting materials by mail to CDIP Awards, Public Interest Directorate, American Psychological Association, 750 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20002-4242, or email to Sara Laney. The deadline for receipt of nominations is June 1.

The award will be presented by members of CDIP at the APA Annual Convention in Toronto.
